Following the official installation of the Consultative Framework for Peace and Programme Support (CCPAP) on 01 November 2025 in Mambasa Territory, Ituri Province, local communities have reaffirmed their commitment to the implementation of Disarmament, Demobilization, Community Recovery, and Stabilization Programme (P-DDRCS). This milestone marks a significant step toward strengthening peacebuilding efforts and improving coordination of local initiatives to promote coexistence and reconciliation.

Numerous community leaders, especially women leaders, welcomed the initiative, highlighting the crucial role of women in the pacification of Ituri. According to Madame Abeti, a respected local leader, “Women in Mambasa have long mobilized for peace. We have consistently worked to encourage our sons to disassociate from armed groups. The creation of this framework strengthens our efforts alongside the

P-DDRCS.”

Madame Romaine Mwembi, from the Gender and Child Office in Mambasa, emphasized the ongoing collaboration with the programme: “We are supporting the P-DDRCS in conflict resolution and in empowering women and girls. With this new framework, the collaboration will become more structured, and we hope it will also benefit from technical and financial support.”

Echoing this sentiment, Madame Moza Salumu Amini from the Mambamusa organization noted: “We are pleased about this installation. Previously, we worked without a formal platform. Now, we have a shared space to coordinate, exchange experiences, and better contribute to the peace process.”

The CCPAP is designed as a platform for dialogue and accountability, bringing together local authorities, civil society, technical partners, and community stakeholders. Its goal is to strengthen coordination, facilitate resource mobilization, and support the implementation of the programme at the grassroots level. Jospin Mbowa, coordinator of the New Civil Society of Mambasa, underscored the importance of youth in the process: “Young people are both victims and actors in these crises. It’s time we become peacebuilders and actively support the P-DDRCS for a better future.”

Present at the installation ceremony, Chief ASUMANI TITO Alain of the Mambasa chiefdom expressed his appreciation: “We are delighted to see the presence of the P-DDRCS here in Mambasa. It proves that our territory has not been forgotten by President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi. We are ready to work together toward stabilization and sustainable development.”

The establishment of CCPAP/Mambasa reflects the P-DDRCS’s commitment to inclusive engagement of all social groups in the disarmament and community recovery process. By uniting the voices of women, youth, and traditional authorities, the programme continues to build trust and lay the foundation for sustainable peace in the region.
