ITURI: P-DDRCS ROLLS OUT ITS NATIONAL STRATEGY IN IRUMU
A workshop aimed at promoting and disseminating the National Strategy of the Disarmament, Demobilization, Community Recovery, and Stabilization Program (P-DDRCS) was held on Tuesday, 28 october, in Irumu, the administrative center of the territory of the same name, in Ituri Province.
The activity, fully funded by the Congolese government through the National Coordination of the P-DDRCS, brought together members of the Territorial Security Committee, traditional authorities, state services, and representatives of civil society. Program partners, including MONUSCO, IOM, Interpeace, APC, and Mercy Corps, were also in attendance.
The workshop was officially launched by the acting Territorial Administrator, Colonel MANDE Robert.
Over the course of two days, the national strategy was presented and explained to promote local understanding, ownership, and engagement. Provincial P-DDRCS delegates, Mr. Nestor BALOMBO TSHEZA and Mr. Fidèle DRAMANI, led in-depth presentations on the five core components of the national strategy. These included conflict resolution and social cohesion, restoration of state authority and security, community recovery and reintegration, stabilization, and economic and social development with a strong emphasis on communication and public awareness.
Speaking on behalf of the Provincial Coordinator, Mr. Nestor BALOMBO TSHEZA paid tribute to the vision of the President of the Republic, H.E. Félix Antoine TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO, and acknowledged the leadership of the National Coordinator, Professor Jean De Dieu Désiré NTANGA NTITA, for their sustained efforts toward lasting peace and national stability.
At the close of the workshop, a local Consultation Framework for Peace and Program Support (CCPAP) was installed, marking a key step toward ongoing coordination and dialogue at the territorial level.
