KINSHASA: NATIONAL COORDINATOR OF THE P-DDRCS CONGRATULATES HON. JOHN BANZA LUNDA, MINISTER OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUBLIC WORKS, AND ADVANCES STRATEGIC ADVOCACY FOR COMMUNITY-ROOTED MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
PROJECTS

Kinshasa, August 13, 2025
Professor Jean de Dieu Ntanga Ntita PhD, National Coordinator of the Disarmament, Demobilization, Community Recovery, and Stabilization Program (P-DDRCS), today met with H.E. Hon. John Banza Lunda, Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, to extend his warm congratulations following his appointment by H.E. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Republic, in the government led by H.E. Judith Suminwa Tuluka.
Beyond the formal courtesies, the meeting served as a substantive forum for discussing institutional synergies between the P-DDRCS and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works aimed at amplifying the socio-economic impact of public policy in post conflict-affected areas. The National Coordinator underscored the imperative of integrating the specific needs of communities in phases of stabilization, resilience, and recovery, in alignment with the P-DDRCS National Strategy and the President’s vision for inclusive and sustainable development.

Discussions centered on embedding large-scale infrastructure projects within local community frameworks to ensure ownership, sustainability, and lasting impact. Both parties examined pathways to link the Ministry’s flagship programs with high social-impact initiatives, including the President’s free primary education and free maternity care programs, community participation mechanisms, technology and skills transfer, and the rehabilitation and maintenance of infrastructure serving grassroots populations.
The meeting also explored how infrastructure projects within the Ministry’s portfolio could actively contribute to the socio-economic reintegration of former combatants—including persons with disabilities—through local job creation, the development of regional value chains, and peace consolidation through development. This approach is fully consistent with the Ministry’s mandate to provide the nation with modern, durable, and needs-based infrastructure, while fostering social inclusion and national cohesion.
The National Coordinator of the P-DDRCS reaffirmed his readiness to work hand-in-hand with the Ministry, under the leadership of the President of the Republic and in full harmony with government priorities, to ensure that every infrastructure project becomes a driver of stability, prosperity, and strengthened social cohesion in post-conflict zones.
