P-DDRCS AND FCS: A NATIONAL SYNERGY FOR LASTING PEACE DIVIDENDS
Kinshasa, 18 November 2025 – The National Technical Committee (NTC) of the Peacebuilding Coherence Fund (FCS) convened at MONUSCO-UTEX under the co-chairmanship of Professor Jean de Dieu Désiré Ntanga Ntita, National Coordinator of the P-DDRCS, and Mr. Khaled Hesmat Ibrahim, Chief DDR & Stabilization Coordinator at MONUSCO.
The meeting reaffirmed the central role of national leadership in the governance of the FCS. The P-DDRCS highlighted the significant efforts already undertaken by the Government since December 2024 to fully finance disarmament and demobilization operations. Pilot projects in Tsere (funded by the FCS), as well as Katoto and Tumbwe (funded by the Congolese Government), demonstrate the tangible dividends of peace when resources are strategically planned and effectively deployed.
With the validation of the Rapid Response Mechanisms, the FCS now represents a strategic opportunity to reinforce stabilization efforts in Eastern DRC. The P-DDRCS reiterated its commitment to working in close synergy with UN agencies and NGO partners, guided by principles of transparency and accountability, to ensure tangible results for communities affected by conflict in the region.
