Kalemie, November 6, 2025 — Staff and officers of the Provincial Coordination of the P-DDRCS Tanganyika, along with implementing partners, have completed a training session focused on conflict sensitivity and conflict analysis.

This three-day capacity-building workshop, centered on conflict-sensitive programming, analysis, and management, concluded on Thursday, November 6, 2025. The closing ceremony was presided over by the Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock, and Rural Development, Mr. Mulapi Pungwe Raphaël, at Victoria Palace Hotel in Kalemie.

Organized by the P-DDRCS Tanganyika Provincial Coordination in partnership with the international NGO International Alert, the workshop aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the root causes of conflict. The goal was to enhance their ability to anticipate and respond to tensions in an inclusive and peaceful manner particularly in Tanganyika, where community, political, and economic dynamics can quickly escalate into conflict.

Representing the P-DDRCS Tanganyika focal point, Ms. Florence Kikasa Mwasi emphasized that the training equipped participants with practical tools to analyze conflict and design interventions that are sensitive to local dynamics, avoiding the risk of exacerbating existing divisions.

Speaking on behalf of the Provincial Governor, Christian Kitungwa Muteba, Minister Mulapi Pungwe Raphaël praised the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward restoring peace in eastern DRC, and especially in Tanganyika. He reaffirmed that the workshop aligns with the national vision of cohesion, community recovery, and grassroots-driven economic revitalization.

The provincial authority also commended the National Coordinator of the P-DDRCS, Professor Jean de Dieu Désiré Ntanga Ntita, for his unwavering efforts to revitalize the program in Tanganyika, in line with the vision of the Head of State, His Excellency Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. In a province where intercommunal coexistence remains fragile, conflict sensitivity is emerging as a critical skill for peacebuilding and sustainable development.

For participants, the training provided valuable insights into how their interventions can influence local dynamics, identify potential risks, and enhance the potential for positive, transformative action.

This workshop is fully aligned with the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, who has made the pacification of eastern DRC a national priority, with the P-DDRCS playing a central role in this process.

At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees, marking the official close of this important capacity-building session.
